‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you,
you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
Remaining in Jesus — that organic, powerful, unrelenting, restful, exciting, encouraging, comforting, challenging connection!
Just pondering what this means and how to foster it. In some translations the word for remain is translated abide or rest. So, it’s not so much by effort or pulling yourself up to Jesus by your ‘bootstraps’. It’s more about putting yourself with Jesus and resting there. Trusting, abiding (a word no one uses anymore) and letting Him be Lord while you rest and trust in Him.
How cool is that!?
The One who was there at the Creation.
The One who gave up His heavenly status to come to earth as a baby and grow up in human form.
The One who knows us better than anyone else and yet loves us better than anyone else.
Jesus, the One, wants you and me to rest, abide, trust, join with Him to bear fruit.
Wow.
God bless you.
